Episode 7 - The Science of Responsibility
What is responsibility? Why, for the most part, do we avoid it at all costs? Is ‘responsibility’ obliging to the tedious practicalities of life under the guise of doing the ‘right’ thing? Or could it be more?
In this episode, Serge Benhayon and Rebecca Asquith discuss the science of responsibility. Could it actually be completely different to what we have imagined it to be?
When left unimpeded, animals act in their own best interest. Instead, humans knowingly make irresponsible choices that harm their health and relationships. To unpack this phenomenon, Rebecca and Serge explore the quality that makes up the ‘being’ in human being. Through a philosophical discussion on the difference between spirit and soul they explore why both the health conscious persona and habitual smoker can both end up with cancer.
The layered energetic understandings and sciences Serge Benhayon has become renowned for are explored in depth and the façade of modern life is again peeled back to examine what is really going on.

Health is impacting on society on a much bigger level than we realise. As a nurse I see this everyday. Its not just the amount of people that we are seeing, but it is also how we as health professionals are working in this. We are stretched, working short staffed, staff off sick with no one to replace. We are off sick more often and coming to work sick too. Our health impacts all parts of life.
If we stop and look at where we are and have been living as a society and in particular our health and increase year on year with illness and disease, what Serge Benhayon is presenting is that if we bring an Esoteric approach to it and connect to our being within and heal the energetic root causes then we are supporting the body to align and evolve with the being. Why wouldn’t we teach our young that they are absolutely awesome for just being who they are to prevent such damaging and horrific heath issues later in there lives. Its never to late to return to our natural way of being.
I love what Serge shared at the end of the episode about his books. Take a snippet out and it does not make sense because its taken out of the context of the whole. Put it all together and nothing makes sense of life and the world like this. I can also see how taking things out of context can be used to harm, when as a whole there is no harm only healing.
The whole offers us a greater insight and understanding in how we can harm and not realise that we are all truly connected.
Who knew that responsibility could be such a beautiful thing? Thank you Serge and Rebecca for this inspiring and revelatory conversation.
Knowing that we affect the All in every moment regardless of who we are with is not an easy pill to swallow, especially when we know what we have been doing previously.
Sure and with this realisation comes the beautiful opportunity to make the changes now which actually, with consistency, ‘re-write’ history. I find that the awareness of the impact of previous choices can be a spur and inspiration for review and change now.
We have a responsibility to be all of us, nothing less, nothing more.
As always, pearls of wisdom offered by Serge Benhayon. Understanding the difference between Spirit and Soul makes sense of what is often non-sensical here on ‘Earth School’ and to continue returning to our Soul until we have healed the separation from love (spirit) and the dilemma we are now in through our irresponsible choices.
I agree, Stephanie. If the difference between spirit and soul was taught from day one, the world would be a different place and make a lot more sense to all of us.
When I heard Serge Benhayon present about the difference of Soul and Spirit I was blown away by it, first how I could feel it in my body and the way I was reacting to both the Soul and the Spirit and secondly nobody I had ever come across, no book I had read, no course that I had attended had ever touched on the two and what the both truly represent and what our natural innate quality within is from.
What if “Doing the right thing” is actually irresponsible, if the right thing is not true?
Thank you Serge and Rebecca, for clarifying the distinct difference between spirit and soul, so we can no longer deny the internal who/what we are allowing to be in the driving seat of our lives.
Yes, Ariana, responsibility is the new black, as it celebrates who we all are in our true and soulful being and simply acknowledges how important it is for us to reflect this to everyone we meet.
I love what Rebecca Asquith and Serge Benhayon are saying here about the beauty in responsibility and what it inspires in another to see what is possible so that they can transform themselves.
We all share responsibility equally so.
We all have the physical totally nailed, we know what and how to operate it. What has made me choose to listen and be inspired by with Serge Benhayon is how he presents and lives how to be in connection with our beingness our Soul. The clarity in the way Serge shares this is remarkable and is absolute confirmation that there is such a thing. I have always known this I just wasn’t being shown or reflected how this can be. Our connection to our essence is everything, if we don’t have this we are lost and just humans functioning.
I love how Serge Benhayon presents science and wisdom in ways that totally make sense. So, a human being: the human aspect is the anatomy and physiology we are made of, and then the being is either under the spirit or the soul which are totally different with the energy running through the human body. This makes such a huge difference to our health and well being and understanding what’s at play.
It feels like like these interviews go so deep into a topic yet barely scratch the surface at the same time.
When Serge and Rebecca talk of responsibility being joyful I totally get how could it not be when we know we are reflecting the beauty of who we are for others to have the opportunity of being inspired.
I find it so amazing, the way that Serge Benhayon can say with such clarity that “the answers to all our conditions lay in the difference between spirit and soul.”
Serge Benhayon makes so much sense in all the he shares, and he delivers this wisdom in such a simple and beautiful way.
Once we have the awareness of knowing what to do then it is responsible to implement it and irresponsible if we don’t as we then won’t know what is next – and perhaps we also lose our awareness if we continue to be irresponsible.
Putting the world on our shoulders gets us nowhere. Knowing that we do not belong on this world gets us Home.
Having a TV program that explains the nonsense, we indulge in, and our wayward behaviours is the TV of the future. Why watch TV re-runs when we can make sense of why we are doing what we are doing over and over, and how to get out of it. Serge Benhayon puts things across so simply and brings everything back to simplicity.
That is such a common thing to dismiss what we feel as uncomfortable or painful as just getting on with things and to put up with it and then settling for this to be our normal. We are short changing ourselves of the most vibrance we are able to be and if this is the way of life the vibrance can’t even be on the radar let along thought possible.
Its true, nothing else does make sense until I heard what the difference between spirit and soul was. Once I did know I have not looked back. Yes, because my momentum was so strong belonging to my spirit, my journey now has become rendering my spirit naught and rebirthing the quality of being that was more honest and cherishing life for all that it is by being fully committed to life and not withdrawing from it. What we able to learn here is valuable to embodying who we truly are.
Truly understanding our being level and the wholeness of what we are with the beauty of responsibility to fall in love with when offered in its true light. Simply beautiful inspiring and would change the world around if on mainstream tv and in our education system.
The science of responsibility of the joy and the power of it is truthfully offered here with the power of inspiration and the amazingness of who we are and our responsibility to show it as the being we are and not what the world has made us to be and the irresponsibility of not living this and choosing miissery. Wow a real insight into our natural confidence ,love, charm, beauty and exuberance of being us.
How to fall in love with responsibility? Watch this episode and gain and deeper understanding of what it truly means.
Yes, and the joy and expansion that is then available.
Imagine what a difference these episodes would make to our world if they were on prime time TV? Rather than attempting to distract us from our woes as our current programmes do, we would instead be served up with genuine resolutions that quite literally transmute our entire understanding of life and our purpose within it.
I agree these Interviews need to be on mainstream TV, and shown to children in schools so they have a greater understanding of what life is truly about.
Responsibility – The world on your shoulders OR The ability to respond? One was created to offset the power of the other.
If we can only inspire another to change or transform through our own livingness, we might as well let go of that ‘helping’ culture that we have adopted in terms being a responsible citizen. That does not mean we do not support others, but we are truly powerful in living the truth of who we.
Responsibility is completely turned on its head here and I love it.
The spirit is wayward and revels in irresponsibility, from one life to the next. The Soul is utter and sheer responsibility to its bones, if it had any, but you get the point, I trust. Responsibility sets us free, it is not the yoke that it has temporally been made out to be.
Our eyes see what we tell them to see and this is very much true for taking snippets out of hierarchical books and quote them out of context – seek and ye shall find goes both ways, for the spirit and the Soul. And thereafter we are left with the spoils of our pursuit.
It’s such a negative trait for society to want to dull down those that shine, that feel joy and can express their inner beauty. In Australia with the Tall Poppy Syndrome the standard is for everyone to be mediocre and contract away from their natural spark. We have no problem though with those that struggle, are in misery or depression, but if someone loves who they are and expresses that in full there’s a problem. We are all part of this and ironically once we allow ourselves to be affected and drop our shine we are more likely to want others to dull themselves down as well. It is so very poisonous because we don’t allow standards of human life to rise, nor allow inspiration from the inner beauty of others to ignite our own.
What is it about a man that can predict what is going on in life to the particle level, and yet so many seemingly have no curiosity to wonder if what Serge Benhayon says is actually true. Are we so caught up in protecting our own interests?
Never before has responsibility been laid so bare for all to see, far and wide.
What a great example of delving into the deeper levels of understanding what true responsibility is that is far from just going to work and paying your bills.
Serge Benhayon does not hold back from talking about the truths of who we are and where we come from.
There is always a call for us to respond to be greater love and greater wisdom.
And the strange thing is that heeding that call is behaving in the most responsible manner possible.
The part I love about response-ability is that it very clearly states we hold the ability to respond to anything, without being affected by it.
And this awareness is something we all have equal access to… our willingness to work with and read it is the bit that we modify and change.
I really enjoy any opportunity to peel away the layers of conformity and facade that make up our social frameworks and patterns. This interview does this and more, inviting us to embrace responsibility rather than live behind the mutation of it being a burden.
I love that science plays a part in our lives all the time, not just in the lab!
That is glorious. And so we are all naturally and innately scientists and students of life.
‘living diminished from who we truly are’ is the cause of our illness and disease – if that is all we need to understand to improve our health, what is getting in the way? We do not feel comfortable with that tension and do all sorts of activities to numb it but that does not remove it or release it, only reconnecting deep within will enable us to feel truly alive.
If we took the health system as an example and how the way we live and being irresponsible with our own health and the impact that this has on everyone else particularly the health system, then surely there has to be another way of living that supports everyone. Taking responsibility for our own health and wellbeing with self-care would take a whole lot of pressure of the health system and the people in it, the government and the country as a whole. Our choices have an impact on everything.
We do have a joy within that will not be put out, it is a fire that lights up and is alight, but for many of us we can shine brighter – we are not broken, Our being is in essence love and so is an absolute truth and can not be broken by anything. I know this is true, I live it and I am choosing to tap in to it. It is gold.
‘Our first responsibility it to be as honest as we can’. Of course! this makes absolute sense and also remind me responsibility it not or nothing to do with ‘trying’ but as shared in this interview being who we truly are. We cannot be who we truly are if we are first not honest with ourselves.
To be honest is a first major step of responsibility. With honesty, we have in our bodies what is there to express and share with others.
And there is such simplicity in honesty – no need for complicated facade maintenance or keeping up appearances – honesty goes a long way to sorting out our exhaustion epidemic.
“There is no such thing as a saviour, or a world saviour. We save ourselves.” I find these words by Serge Benhayon very beautiful, because we are all equal with these words, which is very powerful when placed in the context of how society and life in general is set up these days.
Responsibility is the key to the unraveling of all our tensions. Choosing distracts only buries this further.
Working in healthcare for quite a few years I have seen first hand not only the effect of illness and disease on the body but also the effect of the choices we have made in life that influence our illness and disease. Our body is clearly communicating something to us and we are reluctant to listen. I see this reluctance everyday. Why are we making choices that are simply not good for our bodies and our wellbeing? Health care is sinking under the weight of the amount of illness and disease. Serge Benhayon is the only person I have heard that makes sense on this. He has certainly supported me and many other health professionals come to a new understanding of this firstly in our own lives but then how are we in these really difficult and complex systems of care.
Do we wait until we are presented with the ugly truths of what we have chosen to realise that we are responsible for our own making. To understand that this is an enviable fact and that our choices have and effect on everyone around also is the awareness we all actually do know but choose not to see or live by.
Responsibility is the true test of time. Let those who are responsible in the grandest sense stand at the last hurdle for there is no entry point for stumbling.
It doesn’t matter how many times I watch this amazing series of programmes they always feel so fresh and each time I learn something new. This is what is missing in the world, informative presentations that offer a depth of understanding of the human being and the world it inhabits. Serge Benhayon has a way of presenting that has me nodding my whole body in agreement all the way through as what he is presenting simply makes sense.
I feel really privileged to have found the work of Serge Benhayon in 2012 and be at a place now in myself where I am returning to living from my soul, to feel the beauty this way of being is, and see how it impacts so positively on my health and wellbeing. Great TV thank you.
The best TV ever, thanks Serge and keep them coming! I’m loving the depth, simplicity and accessibility in which you deliver things in. I have always loved this and gettig to truly understand what true responsibility is is awesome.
Responsibility – the ability to respond – is a blessing. It gives us the freedom to choose and the strength to deal with anything that comes our way, should we choose to be so in all areas of our lives, not just the bits that may make it comfortable.
We keep seeking reward, time-out and entertainment as an escape from life. Yet these only brings a surface level relief that never lasts.
What if the joy, settlement and spaciousness that we hope will be delivered, are only ever offered by a true understanding and relationship with responsibility?
Its so true that for some we don’t even consider that an issue that we have with our body is an ongoing issue, like we forget until the body reminds us again and again. Or even worse that having an issue with the body becomes so normal that we no longer consider it an issue. This highlights how the meaning if the word health has been down graded year after year. I wonder if the word even existed 100 years ago?
Living irresponsibly was the way I lived for so very long but I actually didn’t realise it. To me life was simply very challenging. Coming to understand “the science of responsibility” and how it affects every part of my life was the understanding that turned my life around. These days I don’t deny my responsibility to myself and to humanity, I don’t run away from it, but instead welcome it with open arms and an open heart.
When it is delivered and described and share like that how can you not want to be responsible. This shatters all the burdens and pressure we have created responsibility to be and presents exactly what it is meant to be, a joy and something that naturally just comes in the way we live life.
One of the biggest revelations of this great discussion with Serge Benhayon and Rebecca Baldwin was the aspect that even if you are a super fit athlete who ‘does all the right things’ health and fitness-wise, those people can still drop dead suddenly when they have ignored the fact that they are living in a non-loving way, disconnected from their inner beingness (their essence/soul) and have looked to external things to fulfil them and find acceptance/love from those things, which is impossible in the end.
I get the sense here that Serge Benhayon is talking about the responsibility of simply being yourself, of being who you are, because there is inspiration with this and this is where the greatness of joy comes in to all of our lives.
We might not like what Serge Benhayon shares here and even resist or criticise it but it does not change the fact that in less than 20 years our health systems are going to collapse and no one has truly put two and two together and whole heartedly explained what’s going on. That is at least until Serge Benhayon came along.
Simply being honest about the state of our health systems and being willing to consider the trajectory we are on, opens us up to some real and useful conversations. Thank you Serge Benhayon and Rebecca Asquith.
Love this interview. It totally blows the idea of responsibility being a show, weight, a drag, a trend, a directive, right out of the water. It is about being who we truly are. The joy and inspiration of true responsibility – yes!
I’ve heard many times “The body is the marker of Truth” but today I understood another layer of it. The body is the messenger and reflection to the being exactly where it is at. We cannot hide because our body gives away where we are.
It will take a long time for humanity to realise responsibility is an integral part of health and wellbeing
Responsibility has never been so black and white for me. Either I am responding to what is there or I am burying my head in the sand and avoiding dealing with it at all costs.
Responsibility is black and white – it is a simple choice – do we want it or not and do we want to understand the truth of it to begin with. When we say yes to this, we see more, we feel more, we understand our part in where the world is at.
At first when I heard and connected to the word Responsibility it made me feel heavy and weighed down, which simply exposed how the current form of education and language has bastardised the meanings of words. To be in a workshop where Serge Benhayon has presented the science of Responsibility I have connected to it on a completely different level. Today my life is building and I am responding to the natural impulse that is asking me to be responsible. Nothing can slide anymore, I want to be responsible and the more I feel how much this is feeding not only myself but all those around me I just want to keep going and deepen it even further.
There is a lot to feel when one is responsible. It’s like lifting the ‘nice’ filter from our eyes and witnessing the real devestating taking place.
Inspiring no doubt as the levels of responsibility that Serge lives allows no moments of retreat but true purpose to the ALL.
Responsibility means you can never turn the switch off, and living in a society that has it turned of the whole time means that when you choose to turn it on and leave it on people around you don’t like it. But at the same time some do and they get inspired to make different choices. The more of us that appreciate what responsibility offers us the more it will naturally become others way to.
Beautiful how Serge Benhayon brings purpose to every aspect of life through his teachings about responsibility. And now this applies to TV too, producing interviews that educate us on many levels about why we are here and what it means to live a life of purpose, respect and integrity.
Looking at the world as it currently is with the best medical techniques, health care and information available it doesn’t make sense that we are sicker than ever before. Although the physical and technological world has progressed there is something missing because as a species human beings seem to be regressing. It truly only makes sense when we consider the being element and the difference between spirit and soul.
I was with some work colleagues recently that asked me to help them out with something they had to do and they asked me because they said I’m always so positive in my approach to life that they wanted to inject some of this into what they were tasked to do. I could feel that there was a lot of resentment around the task at hand. And instead of it being a drudge something to be got through we made it about being together which doesn’t happen often and having fun. This completely changed what we were there to do. And then we went off and had even more fun knowing that the task had been completed and it wasn’t as bad as they had envisioned.
It is definitely a power to behold, for the ripples that occur from living responsibly reach far and wide.
Hence why responsibility to support the ALL when we make commitment a part of life is a true science to behold.
Gill I love how you are exploring this beingness as being so equally important as the human aspect if not more at the moment. It’s quite staggering how much we can affect ourselves and others simply through taking responsibility for our own beingness.
If ever you needed or wanted to understand and appreciate what true responsibility is with no cutting corners or making do, but someone that stands by what responsibility truly means and lives it in absolutely everything no matter what. Serge Benhayon is worth observing and being inspired by, I have been for over 14 years and still to this day everything that he lives and connects to blows me away yet I can feel how possible it really is and how it is a choice.
I love this explanation of transformation & inspiration that Serge Benhayon gives, and the power that comes with each as we are all under our own direction through life.
The direction being offered without judgement but a deeper understanding that we are here to bring more awareness of the quality we all can live that brings true responsibility we all have within.
Responsibility for me is responding in a way that is free of attachments to the world and investments in creation.
The freedom of letting go can feel quite scary as we can become so attached in how we need to be to fit in. When we realise that the more we let go of the ideals and beliefs we are offered and ease in which to live life.
A good friend of mine once explained to me that the way I viewed responsibility was something that you ‘take’ on board and carry on your shoulders. However in truth it is more about ‘being’ responsive to what is provided for you by way of impulse.
The way that Serge Benhayon talks about the energetic factors of life, and how there is a being inside each human body who is making decisions that affect that body and for which the body then shows, is very empowering. Because this means that we can stop the rise of illness and disease, we can stop misery and abuse. It is all in our power to do so as we each have a body that tells us so clearly what impact our choices are making.
The lifestyles we live have an impact on our bodies there is no doubt about that we just have to look at the figures produced by the world health organisation to know we are not living a well balanced lifestyle any more. So we could say thank heavens literally for the Universal Medicine Esoteric healing modalities because this way of healing is by removing the energetic aspects of the illness and disease as Serge Benhayon said in the interview and not by just addressing them. Modern day medicine is doing a terrific job but I get the feeling that as a race of human beings we are becoming so sick it cannot keep up with the demand we are placing on it.
It is wonderful to be supported, as does Serge Benhayon, to understand and reconnect to our essence.
Responsibility can feel like a burden when considered without connecting with the depth of love that is our true essence and without allowing that love to naturally express in every aspect of our life.
I have always been waiting for someone or thing to save me, this I can now feel is a past life indoctrination from a religious belief that God will come at some point and save us all. This I can now feel is pure illusion it is giving my power away to an outer source. Since knowing Serge Benhayon I have been developing my sense of responsibility firstly to myself and from this I can feel I save myself and this is what we are all here to do so that we can resurrect ourselves out of the misery we have created and return to the body of God which is our true origin.
Responsibility is a word that I really did not understand well, and if I am honest about it – at all. The fact that we deepen our connect with universal wisdom with responsibility puts a different picture on our relationship with it, no longer a burden but much more a part of life that we can enjoy and embrace.
Living energetic responsibility is not about living the perfect lifestyle, having the perfect diet. These things certainly influence of health, but wellbeing is much deeper than say diet and exercise. When we consider living our lives from our beingness we need to consider all of our lives, nothing is excluded. When we live from our beingness, rather than at a functional level, we realise that there is no weight or heaviness from the responsibility this brings.
Waywardness indeed, this something that I am familiar with myself, we call it the ego, the way we are, but it is the spirit…I can feel it is very different from soul. My soul supports all of me and all of the All, the spirt only concerns itself with its on interests.
Responsibility is so huge when we consider that our movements are part of a relationship with All, not just that which we are close to.
The whole world where I grew up was all about living to have as little responsibility as possible, even at work people wanted to get paid more but have less responsibility. Now what I love and find interesting is how the very idea of what we call responsibility is not in fact responsibility, I used to think its about doing more things, conforming to society and yet in that missed the quality of livingness that I and we as a society choose. How simple is it that our kids actually live with greater responsibility than we do in many cases?
The more we open up and get real about what is going on in today’s ‘modern’ world the more the lies and corruption that have laid rotting underneath society for decades is exposed. I would say this is only the beginning and what has been shared here will have to one day be the truth we all come to live every single day.
The impact that health is having on society is such an important topic to discuss. Just the anxiety and fear levels alone around the possibility of loosing close relatives to cancer is possibly something that has not been so widely understood. But, in his true way, Serge Benhayon had brought this out for us to look at. And I get the sense that should there start to be some real and open discussions about how we all feel about the rates and conditions of illness and disease that are prevalent in our societies everywhere, then there really could be the potential for real and substantial change.
Love love love the absoluteness of what Serge presents. Unless you are not truly wanting to hear or understand what is presented, everything makes sense, so much so that it just has to be true!
Animals are great reflection considering something to learn about keeping life harmonious, they do not choose things that do not correspond to an orderly simple life, they know how best to look after themselves and they do it, where as humans have found a lot of ways not to care for themselves and abuse themselves.
Responsibility is a big word and one that’s been missused and twisted to make it a burden or weight rather than the responsivity to life that it is.
So true Michael, one of many words that is being returned to its true meaning. This discussion provides us with the platform to look at responsibility in our own lives and how we have chosen to live or not live it.
Another brilliant and insight-full interview with Serge Benhayon and Rebecca Asquith. Mention the word responsibility to most people and the reaction will not be a joyful one. But Serge Benhayon’s presentation of what true responsibility is certainly opens my eyes to the fact that it actually a joy; a way of living to embrace and not to shy away from. Living our responsibility in every moment adds another level of connection to those around us and to the world in general.
It’s so important to have the reflection that there is more to us than the human being and the heaviness that comes with that. Also, that responsibility is not a burden but a joy.
Thank you for this very insightful interview, we often see responsibility as something we have over a job, or family, something we have to do for others, yet how often do we take true responsibility for ourselves, the way we live the way we talk and the choices we make. I understand more deeply what true responsibility is, and how much lighter and joyful we can feel when we are truly taking responsibility for ourselves, because it leaves nothing to chance.
Yep it definitely makes sense like nothing else has ever made sense before. As a human race we are getting sicker, more unhappy, more mental health problems, no one is vital anymore, no one loves life, no one is deeply caring for themselves – we are in a mess – and Serge Benhayon’s presentations and philosophies are the only thing I’ve heard that not only make sense of it but offer us a way to correct the state of play we have got ourselves into – he is definitely a man worth listening to.
Not only makes sense of it, actually shows that we don’t have to be part of it. And i’m yet to see anyone who lives that on a day to day basis!
It is beautiful to have the relationship between energetic healing and conventional medicine explained like this. And I love the way the two practises can sit side by side, both in full commitment to the person.
Seven years ago I had breast cancer. When I reflect back on that time, I literally sailed through all my treatment. Yes of course some things were challenging for example, losing my hair. But here’s the thing, I had chemo for 5 months and was not sick once. I took plenty of rest and started to cook everything from scratch so that I knew what was in my food, as I felt the importance of food and how much it could truly nourish and support my body at that time. And this still continues. The cancer was in my body or in a tumor on my right breast, which all my medical treatment dealt with. From the very beginning of my diagnosis I knew I wanted to address the root energetic cause as I did not wish to have a quick fix I wanted to truly heal. This is where the Esoteric modalities come in to support me to work on my ‘beingness’. I had Esoteric Charka Puncture every week after my chemotherapy, which acted like a chemo wash and greatly supported my body and why I was not sick.
Working both with the medical profession and the Esoteric was a huge success and key was that I took responsibility for my part in my recovery, with the intention to truly heal. I was also blessed to have support from Serge.
